Orthowin Rx of a ‘pseudo-MOSI’ Modification
Published on Friday 25, 2008 in CAD CAM Orthotics Blog
We obviously use Orthema 3D foot contour capture digitizers and CAD CAM Mills, to prescribe and manufacture custom made foot orthotics / orthoses.
This is a short film describing how we have been using a 2D photo of the plantar aspect of the foot with the subtalar joint axis drawn on (taken with a ruggedised A3 photo scanner) overlaid on the 3D shape /cast of the foot (taken with the contact digitizer) to enable good placement of a MOSI or Medial Oblique Shell Inclination described by Harradine, Collins, Webb & Bevan.
This paper has been a great encouragement to us, and we are very keen to show how the Orthema CAD CAD manufacturing systems can fit very well with this type of orthotic prescription.
