Orthowin Rx of a ‘pseudo-MOSI’ Modification
Published on Friday 25, 2008 in CAD CAM Orthotics Blog
We use 3D foot contour capture digitizers and CAD CAM Mills, to prescribe and manufacture custom made foot orthotics / orthoses.
This is a short film describing how we have been using a 2D photo of the plantar aspect of the foot with the subtalar joint axis drawn on (taken with a ruggedised A3 photo scanner) overlaid on the 3D shape /cast of the foot (taken with the contact digitizer) to enable good placement of a MOSI or Medial Oblique Shell Inclination described by Harradine, Collins, Webb & Bevan.
This paper has been a great encouragement to us, and we are very keen to show how we are using ourĀ CAD CAD manufacturing systems to prescribe and manufacture this type of orthotic.
